Search Son Tra & My Khe Properties →My Khe (Mỹ Khê) is the centrepiece of Da Nang's coastal identity — a 30km stretch of white sand beach running along the Son Tra peninsula and Ngu Hanh Son districts. For most expats, "My Khe" refers to the approximately 5km stretch from the Mỹ Khê roundabout south to the Furama Resort, which has the highest concentration of restaurants, cafes, and international accommodation.
The beach is generally clean, uncrowded on weekday mornings, and swimmable year-round — though rough surf in October and November during typhoon season makes swimming inadvisable on some days. My Khe Beach has been named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by Forbes magazine and Travel + Leisure.
Best time on the beach: 5:30–8:00 am (local Vietnamese exercise time, mellow atmosphere), and from 5:00 pm onwards when the heat drops and sunset is spectacular. Midday (10 am–3 pm) is very hot and the sun is intense — use strong SPF.
The heart of the expat area. Dense with international cafes, bars, restaurants, yoga studios, and rental agencies. Very social, can be noisy at night. Best for short-to-medium-term renters who want community.
The main beachfront boulevard. Premium prices but direct beach access. Subject to significant noise and dust if construction is ongoing in adjacent buildings.
One block back from the beach. Quieter than the beachfront, still within 3–5 minute walk of sand. Good balance of convenience and value.
Residential streets 5–10 minutes walk from the beach. More local feel, lower prices, good for longer stays. Some excellent food options aimed at locals.
